Description We are seeking a highly skilled and broadly knowledgeable Data Center/Infrastructure Technologist to join our team. This role is critical in building a robust runbook for discovery and analysis during data center migrations and transformations. The ideal candidate will act as an "infrastructure detective," delving deep into technical details to ensure comprehensive planning and prevent issues during application and infrastructure movements. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct in-depth discovery and analysis of applications and infrastructure components during data center migrations. * Ask probing questions beyond standard checklists to uncover hidden complexities and potential pitfalls related to application usage, network configurations, and performance. * Understand the implications of technical answers and identify areas requiring deeper investigation. * Collaborate with various technology teams to gather necessary information and ensure all aspects of migration are considered upfront. * Identify and document critical information often missed by third-party vendors, such as firewall rules, authentication methods, and DMZ presence. * Ensure applications are landed in the appropriate hosting environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, corporate data centers) based on a hybrid multi-cloud strategy. * Manage and interact with third-party vendors, asking intelligent questions to ensure optimal outcomes. Required Skills & Qualifications: * Broad technical skills and knowledge across various infrastructure domains (e.g., storage, networking, virtualization, cloud). * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. * Ability to understand complex enterprise environments and anticipate potential issues. * Excellent communication skills, capable of asking precise questions and articulating technical implications. * A "technologist" mindset, capable of digging into specific implications and decision-making trees. * Experience with data center migrations and transformations. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
