UVA Department of Anesthesiology utilizes and embraces the 'Anesthesia Team care model', involving anesthesiologists, CRNAs, residents, SRNAs, and anesthesia technologists. The CRNA is a critical team member administering general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
Commitment: For 0.9 FTE option - Shift requirements are Friday, Saturday, Monday; these shifts are 12 hours per day For 0.6 FTE option - Shift requirements are Friday, Saturday, or Friday, Monday, or Saturday, Monday; these shifts are 12 hours per day Weekend commitment is 46/52 weekends per year in order to qualify for the program. Be part of a High-Autonomy Practice in a growing surgical program. UVA Health's University Medical Center is expanding Perioperative Services and is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to support extendedhour operating room coverage, Saturday elective programs, and sustained OR growth across multiple surgical sites. This expansion is a core component of UVA Health's bridge strategy through 2027, enabling increased surgical access while transitioning from incentivebased anesthesia coverage to a stable, employed CRNA workforce. CRNAs at UVA Health practice within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team model at a nationally recognized academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center, with a key differentiator being a highautonomy practice environment that allows CRNAs to work at the top of their license. Experience: No experience required Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (squeezing an ambu bag). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs and lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, heat, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $100.96 hourly.
