These roles are responsible for the administration, preparation, dispensing, and management of medications and other health products to ensure safe and effective patient care. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work in various settings, including pharmacies, the UVA hospitals, clinics, and research facilities.
These roles are responsible for dispensing medications, providing drug therapy consultations, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals. Pharmacists collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans, offer medication counseling, and oversee the preparation and distribution of medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Represents people leaders (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their area of responsibility. Achieve goals through direct and/or indirect reports. Manages/Supervises professional level employees within a Job Area. Focuses on tactical and operational plans and strategy with short to mid-term focus. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and may escalate more complex issues to higher level management. Ensures that staff is utilized efficiently and daily work projects are completed on time and within budget. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Pharmacy Degree required (B.S and/or Pharm.D.) from and ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Experience: 1+ years of relevant professional experience required. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience. Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy Licensure is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The starting base rate for this role is $115,827.00 annually.
