Surgery Scheduler Encinitas, CA or Oceanside, CA About the Role We are seeking a detailoriented and highly organized Surgery Scheduler to support our surgical teams in Encinitas and Oceanside. In this role, you'll serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, and clinical teams-ensuring surgeries are scheduled efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of professionalism. What You'll Do * Schedule surgical procedures based on physician orders, operating room availability, and patient needs * Coordinate operating room schedules, surgeon availability, anesthesia coverage, and required surgical equipment * Communicate procedure details, preoperative instructions, and scheduling updates to patients and clinical staff * Verify insurance coverage and obtain required prior authorizations * Ensure all preoperative documentation, consents, and testing are completed prior to scheduled surgeries * Maintain accurate and uptodate scheduling records in the EMR system * Adjust schedules as needed due to emergencies, cancellations, or provider availability changes * Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia teams, and administrative staff to support smooth surgical workflows * Provide excellent customer service while handling sensitive and confidential patient information * Adhere to HIPAA, regulatory, and Scripps Health policies and procedures What We're Looking For * 2+ years of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or customer service environment * Previous scheduling experience (surgical scheduling experience strongly preferred) * Experience using Epic EMR * Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills * Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, teambased healthcare setting * Professional, patientfocused approach when working with sensitive information Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oceanside, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
