Design at Allstate

The Allstate Design team consists of a mix of art directors, visual designers, content strategists, and content designers who combine their energy and talents to deliver innovative, customer-driven brand and digital experiences.

Job Summary:

As a Content Designer at Allstate, you will help create usable, consistent, and accessible user interfaces that delight customers and drive business results. You will craft language to help users understand our products and coverage options, manage their accounts, and recover from loss. You'll work across a broad range of customer experiences and touchpoints, including branded websites, web-based product applications, native mobile applications, and email.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with UX and visual designers to create well-documented, high-fidelity prototypes.

  • Apply the content guidelines and standards as outlined in the Allstate Design System, and contribute to its evolution.

  • Design, write, edit, test, and improve language in support of customer task completion, including product and feature descriptions, onboarding, navigation labeling, confirmation/error messaging, and push notifications.

  • Coordinate with other content designers to ensure consistency across products and platforms.

  • Leverage research and insights to uncover the language that resonates with customers and drives results.

  • Present your work in a thoughtful, convincing, and evidence-based manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Three or more years of years of related experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, experience, and/or training.

  • Portfolio of relevant work samples that demonstrates your thought process.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None

Functional Skills

  • Ability to leverage consumer insights to influence content decisions.

  • Strong grasp of content best practices.

  • Comprehension of and adherence to accessibility guidelines and best practices.

  • Understanding of responsive web practices.

  • Experience with design and collaboration tools, including Figma and Mural.

  • Strong understanding of product thinking, interaction design, experimentation, and implementation.

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Exceptional time management.

  • Experience contributing to the content design of complex, large-scale digital experiences.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to articulate and justify your decisions.
