Position Summary
The Implementation Specialist provides on-site execution of STERIS Software Implementations. The Implementation Specialist works directly with the Implementation Project Manager who is leading the implementation project to understand the goals, needs, and expectations of the Customer and the visit and delivers on-site training and support of the software go-live in order to meet the objectives of the visit.
What You'll Do As A Software Implementation Specialist.
- Learns the assigned software applications, modules, interfaces, and other material required to a level of expertise that will allow the Implementation Specialist to effectively train Customer team members (staff and management) on all of the system's capabilities. Continues to maintain and build their knowledge over time, including learning new capabilities when updates to the software, modules, interfaces, etc., are released.
- Learns how to configure the software applications, modules, interfaces, etc., in order to confirm correct configuration and operation of the system while on-site and to be able to perform troubleshooting.
- Learns how to configure, test, and troubleshoot the typical hardware devices that Customers use with the software that is being implemented. This will commonly include PCs, label printers, plain paper printers, barcode scanners, and flatbed document scanners.
- Once assigned to participate in a visit, meets with the Implementation Project Manager leading the implementation project to understand the purposes and agenda for the visit to ensure that the Implementation Specialist arrives for the visit at the correct time and location, and prepared to deliver the training that is required.
- After learning the requirements of the visit, makes travel arrangements according to applicable travel policies. Also, ensures that all Customer vendor credentialing requirements are satisfied well in advance of the start of the visit. Consults with the Implementation Project Manager leading the implementation project in case of any questions.
- If possible, participates in at least one project status call with the Customer, led by the Implementation Project Manager, prior to the visit.
- While on-site, leads group and/or individual in-services to train Customer team members on the use of the software, modules, interfaces, etc., as directed by the Implementation Project Manager.
- While on-site, and after team members have participated in in-services, observes team member usage of the system to identify team members who have not yet developed proficiency with the system. Engages with these team members, coaching them on effective use of the system and asking questions to confirm their understanding of how to properly use the system.
- While on-site, engages with Customer leadership present during the Implementation Specialist's time on-site to inquire/confirm about specific training needs (e.g., system capabilities, training for specific team members) and provide any requested training. Confirms with the Implementation Project Manager if any requests appear to be in conflict with previous understanding gained from the Implementation Project Manager.
- While on-site, assists with troubleshooting of problems identified during the visit. These may include hardware, software, or data problems. Engages with others as needed for assistance with troubleshooting; this may include other on-site STERIS team members, STERIS Technical Support staff, other STERIS team members who are not on-site, and/or Customer technical resources or Subject Matter Experts as applicable. Reports problems, whether resolved or not, to the Implementation Project Manager who is leading the implementation project.
- During and/or after the visit, provides input to the Implementation Project Manager for inclusion in the Trip Report.
- Submits all expenses according to applicable policies.
- Available for extensive travel. During implementation visits, will work 100% at client locations.
- Makes recommendations to continually improve implementation and training tools and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Communications, Computer Science, or related discipline)
- Must have Customer relations experience
- Must have software training experience
- Knowledge of Tracking software and associated hardware peripherals
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must demonstrate PC skills including MS Excel and Word
- Must demonstrate good technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams
- Willingness to travel up to 3 weeks per month, Monday to Friday, to client sites across the USA and Canada.
Preferred:
- Experience in IT/Software, networking and hardware configuration is preferred
- Healthcare Sterile Processing and/or Perioperative experience is preferred
- Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server preferred
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred.

Pay range for this opportunity is$67,362.50-$87,175.00.This position is eligible forbonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc. STERIS offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits portfolio.
