Overview: Carroll University ((please use the apply button below)) invites qualified applicants for the position of Lecturer/Director of Instrumental Music in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will oversee the Instrumental Music program, including: conducting the Wind Symphony plus another instrumental ensemble (chamber winds, jazz ensemble, or chamber orchestra), advising the pep band, recruiting, supervising the applied instrumental lesson area, and assisting with weekly instrumental studio class. Additional teaching responsibilities include areas such as, but not limited to, music education, conducting, instrumental methods, applied music, or courses on music appreciation, jazz or rock history, or world music, as appropriate.

Qualifications: Master's degree required, doctorate preferred. Outstanding conducting and rehearsing skills. Evidence of successful college teaching experience, both as conductor and as classroom teacher. Experience with recruiting and growing an instrumental program. K12 teaching experience is a plus.

Rank and Salary: This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position as Instructional Faculty. Salary will be based on qualification and previous experience.

The Department: The Music Program is a member of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and offers majors in Music Education, Music Therapy, and BA in Music with an emphasis in either Performance or Liberal Arts. The Music Program caters to both music majors and non-majors, and is housed in Shattuck Music Center, which includes a 1300-seat auditorium, a 80-seat Recital Hall, an electronic music studio, piano lab, and multiple music classrooms, as well as faculty offices, teaching studios, and practice rooms.
