Systems Engineer III

Location: Lackland AFB - San Antonio, TX

Division: Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC)

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.

  Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications.

  
  
• 
  

  Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles.

  
  
• 
  

  Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.

  
  
• 
  

  Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.

  
  
• 
  

  Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.

  
  
• 
  

  Capable of performing problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, "Set based design" for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA) and cost versus capability trade off analysis.

  
  
• 
  

  Capable of implementing Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system lifecycle.

  
  
• 
  

  Apply engineering expertise to systems and subsystems including configuration management, data management, security, and other technical integration functions.

  
  
• 
  

  Manage complex system interfaces, identify and document interfaces, and assure the effective integration of multiple subsystems.

  
  
• 
  

  Ensure system requirements meet user requirements; utilize user requirements to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate system concepts, perform assessments, and review the system design.

  
  
• 
  

  Perform and/or support capability analyses and COTS/GOTS evaluation, select components, and develop system interfaces to ensure compliance with DoD and commercially accepted standards and requirements.

  Construct models and simulations of systems to demonstrate the ability to meet user requirements.

  
  
• 
  

  Conduct engineering performance, cost-effectiveness, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessment, and scheduling trade-off studies and document this information in a technical report as directed by the task order.

  Provide aid or guidance as necessary in the accomplishment of other engineering tasks.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role mostly sitting; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to move files, or boxes with file data, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Mental Demands: Reading; communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control and professionalism.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Active TS/SCI

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics

Minimum 8+ years of experience in technical engineering

Ability to Integrate with other organizations/teams

Experience working with Agile Methodologies

Experience working in secured environments

Excellent customer service, communication, and interface skills

Work is onsite
