Position Description An General Production Tech (Assembly tech) is responsible for utilizing prints, work instructions and wiring diagrams in order to assemble product on the production line. This position will be responsible for assembling and joining copper and other metal components using brazing techniques to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our cooling systems. This may include the use of power tools, hand tools, overhead hoists and fixtures to complete assembly and transport material to and from the work station. Chiller Assembly Technicians are responsible for adhering to all safety and quality requirements while meeting production schedule demands. The Chiller Assembly Technician reports to the Production Supervisor. Location: In person, 43 Douglas Way, Natural Bridge, VA 24579 Hours: 3rd Shift: 10PM-6AM Sunday evening to Friday morning Pay: Starting Rate is $24.23/hour after 9 months the pay rate will increase to $26.23 Shift Differential : 3rd Shift is $1.50/hour Key Responsibilities Complete starting, mi-production, or end of line assembly tasks including finishing unit for customes. Use various power and hand tools to construct chiller frames and boxes according to customer specifications. Assist with running wiring to components. Perform brazing to join parts for refrigeration and water circuit per print requirements. Ability to measure, cut, fit, and insulate water piping assembly. Reads blueprints work instructions, and wiring diagrams to build or modify units. Ensure completion of Quality and Production checklists/processes. Use computer to access and enter information including Windows based and CAD platforms. Keeps work area neat, clean and orderly. Operate overhead hoists, manual hand trucks, and powered industrial trucks when required. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred. Ability to read and interpret prints, wiring diagrams, assembly checks and CAD models in order to meet production specifications preferred. Why Choose Modine?
