We are looking for an experienced engineer with a musical background who has strong teaching and communication skills and can bring the breadth of their experience to classes offered within the minor in music engineering. A master's or PhD in music technology, mechanical engineering, or acoustics, or equivalent industry experience, is required. We will give preference to engineers whose experience complements that of the department faculty and who have previously demonstrated exceptional teaching skills in the fields of music engineering and acoustics.

Questions about the position should be addressed to Professor Paul Lehrman, search committee chair, at Paul.Lehrman@tufts.edu. Candidates should submit their application, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and objectives, and a statement of how they will lead the program's multifaceted nature, along with contact information for three references online through Interfolio. Candidates should clearly explain how their skillset will fit well into the music engineering program. Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate attention to inclusive excellence as it relates to teaching, research, and scholarship within the scope of this job opening throughout their application. Review of applications will begin on November 9, 2026 and will continue until the position is filled.
