Description Job Title: Embedded Controls Design Engineer Location: Milwaukee WI (onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Salaried Direct Hire with comprehensive benefits Industry: High Power Electronics Compensation: Open This position will design, implement and maintain the various software and firmware algorithms required for operating precision power electronics products (DC/DC and DC/AC converters). The ideal candidate has a strong background in Control Theory and embedded systems. About the Opportunity: Design, implement, test, debug and provide ongoing support for operating system and application software that meets technical and customer requirements Adhere to established coding and revision control standards Solicit and incorporate customer and end user feedback to further improve our products Conduct and participate in code and design reviews Respectfully champion new ideas and features, big or small Document designs with ample comments, reports, and descriptions Track and resolve reported bugs and perform thorough testing to verify the effectiveness of the fix Design and develop reusable software and system components, and integrate them into existing and new designs Work closely with electrical hardware engineers in the planning, design and development of products to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility Serve as technical lead on assigned projects, working with other functional groups and customers to meet deliverables, and to address and resolve technology or product issues to honor commitments About Acara Solutions Acara is a premier recruiting and workforce solutions provider-we help companies compete for talent. Job Requirements What You'll Bring: Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with ideally an emphasis on Control of Electric Motors and/or DC/DC converters Min 3 years of related embedded controls design engineering experience that includes a strong background in control theory and its application to engineering problems Min 3 years of experience with Matlab/Simulink and real time Operating Systems Min 1 year of experience with Verilog HDL code Min 3 years of experience with C/C++, embedded software development Min 1 year of experience with GIT What Sets You Apart: Experience with Vivado, Vitis and Matlab/System Generator and Mathematica Design Suites After you apply, you may receive a call or message from our AI Talent Scout about this role or other opportunities that match your skills and preferences.
