Position Overview: The Facilities Assistant supports the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day maintenance and operation of Bank facilities, including branch and office locations. Responsibilities include responding to general maintenance requests, assisting with furniture moves and facility projects, performing minor repairs using basic hand tools, and supporting other facility-related needs. This role requires the incumbent to have a vehicle to travel between local offices daily. Essential Job Functions: Assists the Facilities Maintenance Manager with planned and routine maintenance for Bank facilities, equipment, and building systems across branch and office locations. Responds to general maintenance requests and performs basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as appropriate. Assists with furniture moves, facility projects, and other general maintenance activities. Follows established safety, security, and facility procedures. Maintains an inventory of facilities supplies and equipment and coordinates the purchase of needed items with management approval. Supports the Corporate Paper Record Retention Program, including relocating and re-shelving boxes, preparing records for shredding, and entering stored-item information into the appropriate database. Manages and completes assigned work orders through the Facilities Work Order System. Meets vendors onsite and provides appropriate site access and general direction to support completion of scheduled work. Provides backup support for mailroom operations as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and prior experience performing general maintenance or maintaining office equipment. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Reliable vehicle for local travel between Bank locations. Ability and willingness to travel between locations daily as business needs require. Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Competencies: Strong work ethic with a positive, dependable, and solutions-oriented approach. Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to identify basic maintenance issues and determine appropriate next steps. Effective communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with employees, vendors, and other business partners. Works effectively both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of facility-related needs. Location Details This position requires the incumbent to work onsite on a daily basis to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Must be able to travel to all Old Second locations within the greater Chicagoland area. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $18.50 - $23.00/hour Mileage Reimbursement for work related travel.
