This position reports to:

U.S. Segment Strategy Leader - Industry, Buildings & Channel (IBC)

Will partner with Account Managers to develop and deliver Motor Control Center (MCC) quotations for Strategic Water Channel Partners and MCC OEM Partners across the United States. You will play a key role in defining and driving quotation strategy, collaborating with internal stakeholders to align on competitive positioning, technical solutions, pricing, and project execution requirements. You will ensure the quote strategy is effectively communicated, executed, and delivered in a manner that supports customer satisfaction and business growth.

Quotations may include Fast Flex, Configure-to-Order (CTO), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), or hybrid MCC solutions and must be developed with a high degree of accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance with customer specifications, municipal standards, and project-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Water Segment Business Development Leader and Account Managers in identifying, developing, and converting opportunities within the Water & Wastewater market.

  • Reviews customer inquiries, project specifications, equipment drawings, control schematics, and application requirements to determine the most technically appropriate and commercially viable ABB solution.

  • Develops budgetary and firm-price quotations, technical proposals, submittal packages, and bid support documentation for MCC, VFD, and related Water & Wastewater solutions.

  • Coordinates quotation strategy with Account Managers, local sales teams, channel partners, product management, and factory engineering.

  • Provides technical support during customer meetings, product presentations, project reviews, and negotiations.

  • Performs application analysis and harmonic evaluations. Provides MCC drawings, dimensions, technical documentation, and engineering support throughout the quotation and project lifecycle.

  • Delivers product, application, and solution training to sales teams, channel partners, OEMs, and customers. Coordinates compliance with federal, state, municipal, and project-specific procurement requirements.

  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, municipal bidding practices, competitive activities, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience OR Associate's degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline is preferred.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in the sales, application engineering, technical support, or engineering of VFDs, MCCs, or related industrial automation products.

  • Working knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, Water & Wastewater systems, industrial communication protocols, and power distribution applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications, equipment drawings, control schematics, and customer requirements.

  • Experience developing quotations, technical proposals, submittal packages, and customer-facing technical documentation. Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce is highly preferred.

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $130,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
