Scope of Position Responsible for the lay out , fit- up, and assembly of structural steel and miscellaneous metal components and assemblies in accordance with shop drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Job Responsibilities 1. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. 2. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits structural steel components and assemblies in accordance with fabrication drawings and specifications. Read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication details, assembly drawings, and weld symbols to accurately layout and fit structural steel assemblies. 3. Sets up equipment and performs tack welding activities required to assemble and secure components for final welding 4. Assembles parts using bolted and welded connections as required by shop drawings and specifications. 5. Repairs and modifies assemblies by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, fitting, and reassembling parts using cutting equipment, straightening presses, hand tools, and fabrication equipment. 6. Measure and verify dimensions to ensure assemblies meet drawing requirements and established tolerances. 7. Utilize measuring tools, layout tools, squares, levels, and other fabrication equipment to perform fitting activities. 8. Inspect assemblies for dimensional accuracy, fit - up quality, orientation, and compliance with fabrication drawings. 9. Operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment safely when properly trained and authorized. 10. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures. 11. Travel as required. 12. Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
Education & Years of Experience
Four years experience in a rele vant field preferabl y structural steel fabrication or fitting experience preferred Qualifications 1. Ability to evaluate dimensions, tolerances, fit - up requirements, and fabrication quality using measurable standards. 2. Ability to work within established dimensional tolerances and quality standards. 3. Ability to interpret shop drawings and visualize two - dimensional drawings as completed three - dimensional assemblies. 4. Ability to identify discrepancies in drawings, dimensions, fit - up, orientation, and fabricated assemblies. 5. Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to safely utilize fabrication tools, measuring devices, and fitting equipment.

Certification in Welding 3G preferred. 17. Certification in Tack Welding required

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations, and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand - eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
