Position Title: Mechanical Assembly
Wage: $17.50 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm QPS Employment Group has a great Mechanical Assembly position available at a company in Quincy, IL. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Mechanical Assembly Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Assemble components, parts, subassemblies, and finished products according to work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials. - Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and standard assembly equipment safely and effectively. - Read, interpret, and follow assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic blueprints. - Perform both fine and gross motor tasks to accurately assemble products. - Operate standard tools and equipment used to build products and monitor process control and product quality. - Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure assembled products meet company specifications and quality standards. - Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and make appropriate adjustments to component placement, dimensions, or assembly processes. - Complete required production reports, quality forms, and other documentation accurately. - Maintain an adequate supply of materials, components, and supplies at the workstation. - Assist with packaging, labeling, and staging finished products as needed. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. - Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, work instructions, and operational procedures. - Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to meet production and quality goals. Mechanical Assembly Requirements: - High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. - Previous experience using hand tools required. - Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and basic blueprints. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Reliable attendance and punctuality. - Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed. - Ability to stand for extended periods of 8-10 hours during a shift. - Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks. - Frequent use of hands and arms for assembly, tool operation, and material handling. - Ability to climb ladders as required. - Ability to regularly lift and move materials and components. - Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. - Visual ability to inspect assembled components, read blueprints and schematics, and identify defects or quality concerns. - Ability to perform tasks requiring both fine and gross motor skills. Preferred Requirements: - Previous mechanical assembly experience. - Previous electrical assembly or manufacturing experience. - Hand soldering experience. - Basic measuring and troubleshooting skills. - Experience with production documentation or inventory tracking. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities. - Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
