About the Role

The Enterprise Application Manager will manage and lead the development of SPAN Alaska software applications. Provide technical solutions for business requirements, guide development teams, and ensure projects are delivered successfully and within targeted timelines. Work with development managers, architects, senior IT staff, production operations, business analysts, quality assurance teams, and deployment teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and lead IT projects for Matson's software applications.
  • Follow standards defined in the design and development phases of Matson's software development life cycle.
  • Provide technical solutions for business requirements and direction to development teams.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and provide estimates to deliver projects within targeted timelines.
  • Create and execute development plans for multiple projects and provide status and timeline updates to business units.
  • Work with development managers, architects, and senior IT staff on enterprise technical and architecture decisions.
  • Ensure smooth deployment of application components across computing environments by working with production operations and deployment teams.
  • Improve Matson's technical frameworks, architecture practices, and development standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate development teams on advanced technical concepts and coding best practices.
  • Design and implement solutions for system problems and business requests.
  • Ensure the team follows change control processes, and that application and integration deliverables are thoroughly tested.
  • Coordinate testing with business analysts, quality assurance teams, and architecture teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly in cross functional settings.
  • Evaluate packaged products and new technologies.

You have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Techniques, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related occupation.
  • At least one year of experience gathering technical business requirements and developing conceptual and technical designs.
  • At least one year of experience developing and leading projects using Java, web technologies, Oracle, and MySQL databases.
  • At least one year of experience creating libraries and frameworks used across multiple applications and development projects using Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • At least one year of experience developing SOAP and RESTful web services using JAX WS and JAX RS APIs.
  • At least one year of experience developing web pages using Struts, Spring MVC, and J2EE web frameworks including JSP, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.
  • At least one year of experience providing solutions for business and technical problems in accordance with industry standards.
  • At least one year of experience supporting development, integration, and user acceptance testing using JUnit, JMockit, TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, and Jenkins.
  • At least one year of experience writing standard operating procedures and training documents.
  • At least one year of experience enforcing coding standards and coding best practices to deliver products to customers.

The annual salary range is posted for this position in California. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
