The Regional Head of Construction is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations across multiple projects and locations. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position drives operational excellence, fosters strong client relationships, and leads a high-performing team of construction professionals across the region. This role exists to drive strategic alignment, cultural transformation, and organizational excellence in the delivery of projects. It plays a critical role in cultivating commitment to change, particularly when significant shifts are required to achieve Worley's vision. By establishing clear goals and ensuring alignment between people, processes, and tools, the role enables consistent and effective project execution. It also focuses on building a high-performing organization by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time to meet evolving business needs. This role requires extensive experience managing large-scale EPC/EPCM projects from concept through commissioning and a proven track record of successfully delivering large and complex projects on time and within budget across multiple regional locations. Candidates with LATAM project experience and/or bilingual English-Spanish capabilities are highly desirable. Can be based at any Worley office within the Americas Region. Key Accountabilities Customer/Stakeholder Advocacy
- Represent the business and the function at the regional customer level.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders in championing and delivering change and project delivery initiatives.
Global Alignment and Consistency
- Translate global organizational goals into actionable regional deliverables.
- Drive consistency and standardization across the business through regional networks.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the regional Construction function, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Business and Project Performance
- Lead major projects and regional construction capability functions based in a major location.
- Direct project leaders to achieve exceptional results through a "Right to Left" approach beginning with sales and proposals.
- Oversee all aspects of construction from strategic conception through execution strategy, execution, and handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Champion governance requirements for projects and portfolios in alignment with Worley's Management and Knowledge System and regional expectations.
One-Networked Team
- Extend influence beyond local boundaries and contribute to business direction and initiatives.
- Implement strategic initiatives within a specialized field while collaborating across functions.
- Build strong communication and accountability networks.
- Shape business capabilities and organizational direction over a 1 to 3 year horizon aligned with Worley's commitment to excellence and sustainable change.
Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- University degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale EPC/EPCM projects from concept through commissioning.
- Experience identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies across technical, commercial, execution, and operational areas.
- Knowledge of data-centric delivery and systems/tools supporting the full EPC/EPCM project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience implementing project delivery improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of EPC stage-gated workflows and end-to-end project execution.
- Experience with project delivery and analytical tools, including integration of those tools across projects.
Job Specific Knowledge and Experience
- More than 20 years of relevant experience in end-to-end delivery of major construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large and complex projects on time and within budget across multiple regional locations.
- Regional role requiring regular participation in meetings outside normal business hours.
Decision Making
- Support and oversee the implementation of strategic programs and policies that impact the organization and major project delivery.
- Partner with regional management to influence business results and support global and regional strategies.
- Build trust, accountability, and strong working relationships with project leaders and operational teams.
- Support global Construction leadership development initiatives in partnership with the Global Construction Functional Leader.
Supervision Received
- Operate with broad management authority and minimal technical direction.
- Ensure project direction remains aligned with client requirements and organizational policies.
- Report directly to Regional Project Delivery leadership and work closely with Global Functional Leaders.
Supervision Authority
- Lead direct and indirect reports, including performance management responsibilities.
- Make decisions regarding staffing, development, discipline, succession, and compensation recommendations.
- Establish policy frameworks, long-term objectives, and organizational direction.
- Provide leadership and administrative direction to subordinate management.
- Be accountable for the execution and deployment of construction work processes, tools, and training across the region.
Systems, Processes and Tools
- Serve as the operational and functional leader for construction-related systems, tools, and processes.
- Drive consistent adoption and deployment across the region.
- Support updates to Construction Management standards within the Management and Knowledge System.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic global programs.
- Understand and leverage automation technologies and AI to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Demonstrate proficiency with digital tools and platforms used to manage EPC projects.
- Partners closely with other Project Delivery functional leaders to advance integrated work processes, tools, and end-to-end project delivery.
