Description
Provides the highest level of expert analysis, consulting and project or staff leadership for the full range of actuarial activities related to either insurance pricing or ratemaking for a line of business (LOB), loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance. Provides consultation and develops or leads the development of models and projections to enable new start-up organizations.

You will perform stochastic modeling analyses to measure and forecast financial strength of the Enterprise. Analyses include periodic forecasts based on Profit & Growth Plan and what-if scenarios that may require creative and flexible thinking to parameterize scenarios based on limited data. You will work with product lines to incorporate capital requirements into profit load indications for products and/or states. Job responsibilities include communication of technical results to non-actuarial and leadership audiences. Knowledge of stochastic capital modeling/catastrophe modeling, reinsurance, investments, and insurance accounting are beneficial. Prior experience with capital modeling software and programming in SQL, R or Python are a plus. You will report to a Senior Manager, Actuary.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.

Position Compensation Range:

$131,000.00 - $220,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities:

* Provides consultation and develops or leads the development of models and projections to enable new start-up organizations.
* Provide actuarial expertise and consultation on the full range of actuarial activities related to either insurance pricing or ratemaking for a line of business (LOB), loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance Leads development of pricing for new products and rating structures.
* Explores new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business.
* Monitors industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to actuarial strategies and solutions.
* Leads projects and/or develops staff.

Requirements:

* Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts, pricing, ratemaking, loss reserving, modeling or reinsurance depending upon area of specialty.
* Demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of forecasting and statistical analysis and modeling.
* Solid knowledge and understanding of profitability, growth and risk concepts.
* Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS).

Travel Requirements:
* Up to 10%.
