Provides routine respiratory care modalities, including routine airway care, and monitor ventilator care; supervision and monitoring of rehab patients undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation

Responsibilities:

*All Pulmonary Tech II responsibilities.
*Maintains and monitors adult and pediatric ventilators and BiPap / CPAP, in both critical and general care settings. Utilizes respiratory monitors, which includes setting up, calibrating, maintaining and trouble shooting.
*Performs intubations per department protocol.
*Performs routine maintenance of ET and trach tubes.
*Performs weaning parameters in order to evaluate and assess respiratory status.
*Assists with patient education as it pertains to respiratory care issues.
*Conducts Phase I Inpatient Pulmonary Rehab evaluations and education.
*Attends meetings and participates in committees as needed.
*Assesses, initiates, performs and discontinues routine respiratory care responsibilities per cardio respiratory protocols
*Precepts/mentors new employees and newly promoted employees

Qualifications:

High school plus trade or vocational school in Respiratory Care. New Mexico Respiratory Care License required. Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician from the NBRC required. BLS certification. One to three years of experience in Respiratory Care, preferred
