ABOUT THE POSITION

Site Civil Designer - Newark, NJ| Manasquan, NJ| Princeton, NJ

Join VHB to help grow their expanding and innovative Land Development team in New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. This position can be based in Manasquan, Newark or Princeton, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

    Develop project management skills through on-the-job training of project management techniques and management systems through assisting with the project proposal process and determining project requirements (e.g., schedule and budget).
  • For a detailed segment of a project, lays out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies, quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations.
  • Assists senior engineers with a variety of assignments (e.g., development of design guides, guide specifications, design control procedures).
  • Prepares technical specifications for review and approval.
  • Reviews and may approve design drawings for assigned segment of project.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Perform field tests, takes measurements, and collects field data, as necessary.

Skills and Attributes

  • Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations in New Jersey

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience working on land development projects
  • EIT preferred
  • Experience site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
  • Experience with site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports
  • Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in New Jersey, is $90,000 to $110,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
