Summary

The Defined Contribution Senior Client Manager (SCM) is responsible for the day to day execution, governance, and operational excellence of Defined Contribution (DC) client delivery. This role leads global teams to successfully deliver ongoing operations and project work, ensuring high client satisfaction, strong operational health, and alignment to the strategic goals set by the Client Leader (CL). The SCM builds trusted client relationships through clear communication and expert guidance on complex plan and administrative issues, while fostering a One Alight culture that promotes collaboration across Alight US and Alight India. Leveraging deep DB expertise, the SCM drives continuous improvement, partners closely with technology and internal service teams, supports financial performance and in year growth, and plays a key role in renewal readiness and contract stewardship.

Job Responsibilities

Delivery Accountability & Governance

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all ongoing operational work and ad hoc project work, leveraging strong project management practices and global team capabilities to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Establish and lead governance routines that provide day to day oversight of client delivery, including monitoring operational health, managing risks, and ensuring timely issue resolution.

  • Execute and lead teams against the strategic, operational, and service goals set by the CL for the account.

Client Partnership & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with clients at both day to day and senior levels, building strong, trusted relationships while providing transparency across all aspects of client delivery.

  • Ensure client requirements remain accurate, current, and well understood across delivery teams, addressing questions related to unique situations, participant inquiries, client escalations, and specialized requirements.

  • Partner with clients on complex plan issues by providing expert guidance on plan changes, projects, and administrative implications.

Global Team Leadership & One Alight Culture

  • Foster a One Alight culture by driving collaboration and cultural alignment between Alight US and Alight India, promoting shared accountability and seamless global delivery.

  • Oversee work execution while actively coaching, mentoring, and developing global team members to build capability, engagement, and long term talent strength.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client specific needs across internal groups such as Customer Care, Shared Services, and technology teams.

Expertise, Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply deep DC expertise and prior experience to solve the most complex plan, operational, and delivery challenges, maintaining a solutions oriented mindset.

  • Identify, plan, and lead process improvement initiatives that drive year over year efficiencies, quality improvements, and scalability.

  • Function as a subject matter expert in the presentation and implementation of new products and services for aligned clients.

Technology & Operational Enablement

  • Collaborate closely with technology teams to validate internal Client Acceptance Testing results and to coordinate, communicate, and manage external Client Acceptance Testing with clients.

Financial Performance, Growth & Renewals

  • Partner with leadership to reduce total cost to serve by identifying opportunities to reduce demand, improve delivery model efficiency, enhance quality, and leverage scale.

  • Manage to the client contract while preserving margins, ensuring SLA adherence, and supporting Error & Omissions discussions or negotiations as needed.

  • Drive in year revenue growth with a focus on project work, expanded scope, and upsell opportunities within existing client relationships.

  • Collaborate with Renewal Executives and the CL to support renewal preparation, including assessing stakeholder sentiment and identifying opportunities to expand or upsell solution offerings.

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong client and DC domain knowledge with the ability to anticipate client needs and proactively align delivery to client and business objectives.

  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex initiatives on time and with high quality.

  • Proven ability to lead teams through change, aligning execution to both client priorities and Alight's strategic goals.

  • Highly effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to influence on complex domain and technical topics and coach teams on clear, consistent client messaging.

  • Advanced management and organizational skills, including project planning and execution, effective delegation, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across all areas of client delivery and partner broadly across the organization to achieve optimal client outcomes.

  • Passionate people leader with a strong focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing global talent across distributed teams.

  • Experienced in operating within a global, virtual work environment, effectively engaging and leading teams across geographies through inclusive and disciplined virtual collaboration.

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

70,000.00 USD

Maximum :

95,000.00 USD
