This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The E-commerce Site Merchandising Specialist II drives product discovery and digital customer experience optimization on Columbia.com. This role is responsible for advancing onsite search, navigation, personalization, guided selling, and recommendation experiences to improve product findability, engagement, conversion, and revenue. Through data-driven analysis, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration, the specialist enhances customer journeys, delivers actionable insights, and supports the adoption of emerging digital commerce capabilities that create seamless and engaging shopping experiences.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Search, Navigation, Personalization & Product Discovery Optimization

  • Improve onsite search, personalization, and product discovery experiences to drive engagement, conversion, and revenue.

  • Support the deployment, configuration, testing, and optimization of advanced search capabilities.

  • Enhance site navigation, taxonomy, category structures, and wayfinding to improve customer journeys and product findability.

  • Develop, launch, and optimize guided-selling, recommendations, and personalization experiences.

  • Monitor product discoverability across onsite search, category pages, navigation paths, recommendation modules, and landing pages.

  • Partner with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize tools and platforms.

  • Analyze customer behavior and identify opportunities to improve browse experiences and increase conversion.

Analytics, Testing & Performance Optimization

  • Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and performance readouts for search, navigation, personalization, merchandising, and promotional initiatives.

  • Execute and analyze A/B tests to measure the effectiveness of customer experience enhancements.

  • Monitor key performance indicators including search engagement, conversion, revenue, click-through rates, and product discovery metrics.

  • Evaluate the results of merchandising strategies, promotions, and customer experience initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations for optimization.

  • Leverage analytics tools to identify trends and opportunities that improve business performance.

Customer Experience Support & Emerging Capabilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for customer-facing browse experiences, product discovery journeys, and digital shopping tools.

  • Support shoppable social experiences, product tagging initiatives, and customer service inquiries related to website functionality, product discovery, and content.

  • Evaluate, test, and support implementation of emerging customer experience capabilities and digital commerce technologies.

  • Collaborate with business, marketing, customer care, and technology partners to continuously enhance the online shopping experience.

  • Provide expertise and troubleshooting support for new browse, search, personalization, and shopping technologies.

YOU HAVE

  • 2-4+ Years of relevant E-Commerce experience in digital merchandising, site search, personalization, or related areas.

  • Strong reporting, dashboarding, and data storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate findings. Adobe Analytics experience a plus.

  • Experience analyzing customer behavior and translating insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Familiarity with product taxonomy, metadata and category management best practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn how to use and optimize platforms and 3rd party vendors on E-Commerce site.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on improving customer experience and performance
