What to Expect
Tesla is looking to hire a Data Scientist to contribute to the development of the data factory and manufacturing software services for our cutting-edge battery products. This position will help drive technological advancement by delivering data and software solutions to solve high-volume manufacturing problems. Battery development is at the heart of Tesla's mission, and this is an exciting opportunity to address the central challenges in scaling electric vehicle manufacturing while seeing the physical impact of your work. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
What You'll Do
- Leverage large-scale manufacturing data systems to extract key improvement insights and facilitate engineering investigations
- Develop robust and scalable algorithms/ predictive models to improve manufacturing process and quality control capabilities
- Collaborate with Software Engineers and Controls Engineers to seamlessly integrate models, algorithms, and LLM-based workflows into production processes
- Develop and experiment with data acquisition and processing workflows to extract, clean, and store manufacturing process knowledge from structured and unstructured sources (e.g., logs, work instructions, failure reports) as high-quality context for RAG and LLM applications
- Build self-serve data tools to empower data-driven manufacturing
- Clearly convey analyses and findings for cross-functional stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience with Python and SQL database queries
- Proficiency with large volume data preprocessing and data wrangling
- Strong mathematical/ statistical knowledge relevant to process control and monitoring
- Experience withdata warehouse and data lake technologies such as Clickhouse, S3
- Experience withmodern machine learning concepts and MLlifecycles
- Proficiencywithdata visualization techniques and tools using Tableau, R Shiny, Python Dash,Plotly,etc.
- Degree in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience
