Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions. Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards. Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy Processes specimens for laboratory testing Competent in the collection or processing of specialized samples. Performs with minimal error rate. Acts as a trainer and is a resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists. Needs minimal supervision and problems solves with little or no supervision. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. This position is PRN. The shifts that are available are 1st shift: 4:00 AM or 4:30 AM. 2nd shift: 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM. Will provide coverage for UH employees on PTO, LOA and staffing shortages in the department. Inpatient population. Location is Elyria Medical Center.
