The Security Innovation team within Cisco's Security Business Group is building the next generation of networking and security platforms that protect applications, devices, and data across modern data centers and cloud environments. As part of the team developing Cisco Hypershield Smart Switches, you'll help build high-performance data plane software that leverages Data Processing Units (DPUs) to deliver advanced networking, packet processing, and security capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as Cisco prepares to launch its next-generation Smart Switch platform. As a Software Engineer Technical Leader, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing the data plane software powering Cisco Hypershield Smart Switches. This is a highly technical, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll spend the majority of your time writing production-quality code, solving complex networking problems, and influencing technical direction through engineering leadership. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle-from technical design and implementation to debugging, performance optimization, code reviews, and customer issue resolution-while partnering closely with software, hardware, and security engineering teams.

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
