Assistant Athletic Trainer

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Athletics and Recreation department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer evaluates athletic injuries, consults with team physicians and/or healthcare professionals, provides health care, and referrals for patients in support of injury care and injury prevention for 16 varsity sports.

This is a 10-month appointment that is active during the academic year (August through May). The salary for this 10-month appointment is $45,000.

• Provide practice and event coverage including evenings and weekends.
• Supervision of athletic training facilities, student undergrad first aiders and MAT students (preceptor).
• Provide care, prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and documentation of injuries for student-athletes in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable University, conference, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies.
• Communicate and collaborate with sports medicine, external medical providers, coaching, and athletic administration staff is expected. Sport assignments and other duties as assigned to be determined by the Head Athletic Trainer (or designee).

• Master's degree from an accredited institution.

• NATA BOC certification. Wisconsin license eligible.

• Current First Aid, CPR, AED certification.

• Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours.

• Knowledge of NCAA and Conference (WIAC) rules and regulations is desirable.
