What to Expect

Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue throughfallterm (endingapproximately December 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work40 hoursper week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-timeduring the academic year.

Weareseekinga highly motivated full-stack software engineerintern to join the fastest growing area of Tesla: Energy.You will work on one of thehighest visibilitysoftware systems on theEnergy Team.A successful engineer is one that can incorporateproduct vision,cross-functional collaboration amongst firmware/hardware design, serviceengineering, diagnosticsteams, manufacturing,qualityand reliabilityfirmwareto execute efficiently and deliver a top-tier user experience through excellent engineering.While this role does not require you to come in as an expert on battery and energy systems, you will work on Megapacks andSuperchargers.

This is a rewarding role where you can directly change the trajectory of products that accelerate our transition to a renewable energy future.Our mission is to ensure that customers' energy products are diagnosed accurately, reliably, and as quickly as possible with feedback mechanisms to enable continuous improvement of diagnostics.

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer Intern in Energy Engineering, you willbe responsible forspecifying, building, andmaintainingthe next generation of diagnostic tooling for our Industrial Energy Devices.You'llbe part of one of our multidisciplinary product teams, where you will build both back-end and front-end systems, and work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, and Data Analysts.

What You'll Do
  • Contribute to our goals of improving diagnostic simplicity, meeting regulatorycomplianceand building proactive diagnostic systems
  • Improve andmaintainour web anddesktop-baseddiagnostics platform
  • Design and develop full-stack applications that deliver critical insights into Tesla's energy systems
  • Debug issues in production, root cause and apply fixes intimelymanner
  • Participate in architectural improvements to support our growing user base
  • Improve application security
  • Write new React components in support of new features
  • Improve reliability,scalabilityand performance of Tesla's diagnosticplatform

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Scienceor related field
  • Strong working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, Typescript)
  • Strong CSS skills and experience working with CSS pre-compilers (SASS, LESS, etc.)
  • Go development experience
  • Experience in building highly scalable architecturesis a plus
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypesis a plus
  • Experience with user experience design is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
