Overview
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior PC Technician to support a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities
Administer and support Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile, and classified computing environments to ensure system availability, security, and performance.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade workstations, servers, software, and telecommunications systems across multiple environments.
- Manage system performance, capacity planning, patching, security controls, and business continuity processes to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Develop technical requirements, specifications, and recommendations for hardware, software, and infrastructure solutions.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve reliability, security, efficiency, and user productivity.
- Administer enterprise infrastructure components, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and classified systems.
- Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead infrastructure projects through planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, operational procedures, and compliance records.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to team members and end users.
- Drive automation, process improvement, and modernization initiatives to enhance service delivery and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications
- AS in relevant discipline plus minimum 5 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Must have an active DOE Q Clearance Minimum to Start or DoD Top Secret with Reciprocity, US Citizen, and be able to obtain an SCI Clearance
- Must Be US Citizen
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administrators and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment 100% onsite
- Up to 50% of a given week may involve phone support (initial call intake, troubleshooting via phone, and ticket documentation)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Cyber Security interface and requirements
- Windows System Administration in a large corporate environment, at least 2-4 years
- Familiarity of Classified Network Application Request System (CNARS) process
- Experience working with lab and tester-based systems, including unclassified and classified data backup solutions
- Organized individual with self-driven to complete tasks
- Familiar with VMware / Virtual Machine environment
