The Enablement Engineer is a technical individual contributor responsible for implementing, testing, and maintaining automation solutions developed within DataBank's Support Experience and Enablement team. Working closely with the Sr. Manager of SEE (Support Experience and Enablement), this role handles the hands-on engineering execution of the automation roadmap - building integrations, writing and testing scripts, deploying workflows, and supporting the AI chatbot technical build in Year 2. This role sits within the SEE team and reports to the Sr. Manager, Support Experience and Enablement.

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently on technically complex automation problems. They will thrive in a collaborative environment, follow established change management procedures, and communicate clearly with both engineering and operations teams. The candidate must be dependable, methodical in their approach to testing and documentation, and capable of managing multiple automation workstreams simultaneously.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Automation Implementation

  • Build and deploy automation scripts and workflows under the direction of the Sr. Manager.
  • Implement integrations between ticketing systems, monitoring platforms, and automation tools.
  • Write clean, documented, maintainable code for all automation deliverables.
  • Execute testing and validation for automation deployments before go-live.
  • Support the Sr. Manager in delivering the 8-12% ticket deflection target by Month 12.
  • Leverage AI tools to enable customer-facing self-service capabilities, reducing inbound ticket volume and improving response times.
  • Support internal teams through AI-assisted tools and workflows, improving engineer efficiency and consistency of resolution across Tier 1 and Tier 2.

System Integration and Maintenance

  • Maintain deployed automation solutions and respond to failure alerts or degraded performance.
  • Build and maintain API integrations between DataBank's operational toolset.
  • Document all integrations and automation logic in the knowledge base.
  • Monitor automation performance and surface Optimization Opportunities.

Collaboration and Standards

  • Work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers to understand workflow requirements before automating.
  • Participate in automation candidate identification with the Sr. Manager and operational teams.
  • Adhere to DataBank change management and documentation standards for all deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT automation, scripting, or systems integration.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying automation in an operational IT environment.
  • Experience working with managed services or enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience with REST API integration and webhook development.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and monitoring platform APIs (ConnectWise, ServiceNow, or similar).
  • Understanding of Windows/Linux server administration, VMware, and network fundamentals.
  • Experience with source control (Git or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to testing and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, fast-moving team.
  • Clear communication skills for both technical and operational audiences.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt as automation tooling and priorities evolve.
  • Experience with automation platforms (Ansible, Terraform, or similar orchestration tools) is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with automation platforms (Ansible, Terraform, or similar orchestration tools)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML APIs or conversational platform integrations
  • Industry certifications: Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or cloud platform
  • Background in an MSP or managed services delivery environment
