About the Role

A leading national lifestyle retailer is seeking an experienced Push and SMS specialist to own full P&L responsibility for two mission-critical growth channels during their most strategically important season. You'll step in as the solo owner of these channels during a 4-month maternity leave coverage period that spans holiday planning through execution.

This is a high-visibility role with real autonomy. You won't be supporting someone else's strategy-you'll be the strategy. The channels you own are growing fast and getting increasing visibility within the organization.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day



  • Own planning and execution for 2-3 push campaigns daily and 3-4 SMS campaigns weekly
  • Build content calendars by synthesizing brand priorities, product launches, promotions, seasonal moments, and business objectives
  • Brief creative partners on channel strategy and content direction, then review all output for brand alignment and accuracy pre-deployment
  • QA every send for content accuracy, rendering, links, and segmentation; flag and resolve issues immediately
  • Manage SMS budget allocation, optimization, and documentation throughout the planning window
  • Lead Monday reporting cadence: pull data from existing sources, interpret performance metrics (CTR, conversion, revenue contribution), identify top/bottom performers, and translate insights into actionable optimization recommendations
  • Identify content gaps and recommend fresh, channel-relevant ideas (category spotlights, loyalty messaging, education)
  • Work independently and cross-functionally with campaign ops, producers, brand strategy, offer management, and site merchants

You're stepping in during the most critical 4-month window of the year: holiday planning ramp-up through execution when campaign velocity, stakes, and visibility spike dramatically. Your ability to execute flawlessly under pressure directly impacts channel revenue and brand performance at the highest volume moment.

What We're Looking For



  • 3+ years hands-on Push/SMS strategy and execution (this is non-negotiable; we need someone who can work independently from day one)
  • Deep proficiency with mobile messaging platforms (Attentive preferred, or similar: Klaviyo, Iterable, Braze)
  • Strong analytical mindset-comfortable interpreting data and translating it into insights and actions
  • Exceptional detail orientation and QA discipline; flawless execution is table stakes
  • Thrives in high-velocity, multi-project environments with comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Strong communicator who builds cross-functional alignment without being dependent on others for direction
  • Quick learner with strong tool fluency
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront, ServiceNow, and/or Smartsheet (strong plus)
  • SMS budget management and optimization experience (or strong track record in analytics that demonstrates you can pick this up quickly)


Nice-to-Have



  • Retail or ecommerce background (channel expertise matters more than category knowledge)
  • Beauty, apparel, or lifestyle brand experience
  • Reporting and business intelligence skills


Education



  • Bachelor's degree preferred (we're flexible here if your experience is exceptional)
