New employees can potentially earn $52k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! Machine Operator, 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM plus over time, including some Saturdays. SUMMARY Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures. * Monitor production output and quality to meet specifications. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Adhere to safety protocols. * Assist with finished products by using banders to bundle finished products. * May operate forklift or crane. * Assist with Break Press operations. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required. * Frequent communication with others to exchange information. * Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. * Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. * Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. * Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. * Constantly thinking and processing information. * Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks. QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma, GED or equivalent. * Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. * Basic knowledge of the English language * Ability to read measurements accurately. * Basic math skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Standing for most of shift * Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls. * Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching * Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus. * Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT * Working near moving mechanical parts. | |
