Recruiter: Tina Kratochwill / tina.kratochwill@airliquide.com The HSE Specialist will assist with the development & implementation of Seppic's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
Collaborates site personnel and external resources to ensure the overall HSE strategy for the site is executed, minimizing Seppic's general liability and exposure to safety, environmental compliance, and security risks. Ensure the site maintains a continuous "audit ready" state of compliance with company and governmental HSE standards. Responsible for assisting with the development and deployment of all company HSE standards as they specifically apply to the site. Assist in the execution of all site environmental compliance programs, including air, stormwater, spill control, and wastewater. Assist with proper management of the site's hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations/standards. Delivers training and coaching to establish clear understanding/engagement by all site associates on HSE expectations. Conducts frequent safety visits to all areas of the site to promote a safe culture, check safety rules application, and to propose safety improvements as discovered. Ensures investigation of all HSE related incidents utilizing specific tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence. Drives completion of recognized corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence, this includes execution of corrective actions developed from other site incidents. Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, safety showers/eyewash, first aid kits, AEDs, etc. Assist with site efforts to measure and improve industrial hygiene. This includes but is not limited to: ergonomics, dust, noise, and chemical exposure. Assist with site Contractor Safety Program to reduce risk associated with construction and contractor activity. Assist with execution of site security plan. Assist with coordination of PSM activities. Supports the site management team to foster a caring culture where safety, health, and environment are ingrained as a core value equal to other business functions within the site. Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, and Quality to develop and deliver site based goals and plans. Effectively leads, coaches, and develops operations line supervision to be effective HSE leaders in their respective positions. Work with third-party risk control experts to ensure compliance with company standards on new projects as needed. Assist with maintaining the facility-wide, web-based chemical inventory list and Safety Data Sheets Track, compile, and report safety statistics. Other duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Understanding of chemical manufacturing requirements related to safety/environmental Critical thinking - comfortable questioning the status quo Positive attitude, enthusiastic 3-5 years experience managing safety programs in a manufacturing environment Strong safety regulatory knowledge related to EPA, OSHA, PSM, and DOT. Experience with hazard recognition and job hazard analysis is desired. Experience with laboratory safety (chemical hygiene, safe lab practices) is a plus English : Fluent This position is located in Sandston, VA (near Richmond)
