About the Role

Are you a DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) expert who loves keeping enterprise networks running flawlessly? We are seeking a DDI Network Engineer to become the core subject matter expert for our on-premise enterprise network infrastructure.

While your primary mission (80%) will be owning and optimizing our robust Infoblox environment, you will also play a key role (20%) in driving our modern evolution into cloud integration and network automation. Working alongside a talented hybrid team, you will ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our critical network services.

Key Responsibilities

On-Premise DDI Core Management (80%)

Architect & Modernize: Design, implement, and manage enterprise DDI infrastructure utilizing Infoblox solutions (NIOS, Grid architecture).

Maintain Peak Performance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize DDI services to guarantee 99.9%+ availability across data centers and campus networks.

Lifecycle Management: Lead Infoblox appliance upgrades, patches, and maintenance windows.

Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous security best practices for DDI infrastructure, including DNSSEC and strict access controls.

Capacity Planning: Oversee accurate IP address allocation, subnet management, and infrastructure scaling to meet growing enterprise demands.

Cloud Platform Integration (10%)

Bridge to the Cloud: Integrate on-premise DDI services with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Hybrid Architecture: Manage complex, hybrid DNS architectures that seamlessly span on-premise and public cloud environments.

Project Support: Support cloud-bound applications with rock-solid DNS and IP management during migration phases.

Automation & Innovation (10%)

Streamline Operations: Provide technical guidance to develop automation tools that eliminate manual DDI tasks.

Infrastructure as Code: Assist in implementing IaC practices for DDI configurations and building self-service capabilities for internal teams.

Collaboration & Leadership

Create and maintain high-quality documentation for DDI architecture and procedures.

Mentor junior team members and collaborate cross-functionally with Security and Infrastructure teams.

Participate in standard change management processes and the team on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

Infoblox Expertise: Proven, hands-on engineering experience with Infoblox DDI solutions (NIOS, Grid Manager, DNS, DHCP, IPAM).

Network Fundamentals: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLAN design, routing protocols, and core DNS protocols (including DNSSEC).

Scale Experience: Past success managing enterprise-scale, on-premise network infrastructure.

Troubleshooting Sharpness: Advanced skills in diagnosing complex network and DDI protocol issues.

Communication: Exceptional documentation skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points For:

Certifications such as Core Infoblox Core Admin (CICA) or Core Infoblox Core Engineer (CICE).

Familiarity with automation tools/languages (Python, Ansible, or Terraform) for network environments.

Experience with hybrid cloud networking setups.
