Hexcel Corporation is currently seeking an NDT Supervisor for our Kent, WA location.

Summary pay range: $83,500 - $125,300 annual salary.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of NDT technicians, fostering a strong safety culture, accountability, and high engagement.
  • Drive performance management, including hiring, onboarding, training, certification, feedback, and day-to-day leadership of the team.
  • Set clear expectations and build technical capability across the team, ensuring competency, consistency, and bench strength.
  • Serve as or support the Responsible/Principal Level III, ensuring robust certification programs and compliance with the NDT Written Practice.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for NDT processes, including procedure control, technique validation, and interpretation of inspection results in accordance with NAS 410.
  • Plan and align NDT resources to production needs, balancing throughput, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure all NDT activities meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements (NAS 410, Nadcap, ASTM/AWS, AS9100) and maintain audit readiness.
  • Lead audit readiness and support internal, customer, and Nadcap/AS9100 audits, including corrective action execution and closure.
  • Ensure strong defect detection and prevention practices, including accurate identification, documentation, and traceability of nonconformances and MRB support.
  • Use data and team insights to drive continuous improvement, including SPC, root cause analysis, and NDT equipment/process capability improvements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of NDT experience in aerospace or composite inspection; Level II certification required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience with responsibility for team performance, development, and execution.
  • Hold and maintain at minimum a Level II ASNT certification. Level III certification or ability to achieve within a defined timeframe strongly preferred, with exposure to Level III responsibilities.
  • Certification in and/or strong knowledge of NAS 410 and ASTM/AWS specs for certifications and inspection requirements, as well as experience supporting or administering an NDT Written Practice.
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action processes in a manufacturing or quality environment. Familiarity with composite NDT methods such as UT, RT (X-ray), thermography, or shearography, and common composite defect types.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications and effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
