What you'll be responsible for each day:

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for scheduling outbound shipments and preparing documentation to ship product out of the warehouse.

  • Ship out-going products by ensuring accuracy of order as compared to actual Sales Order; ensure each order has documentation (e.g., packing slip, CofA, and any foreign documentation that may be needed); enter appropriate information into computer system.
  • Prepare all related paperwork required for out-bound shipments; includes but is not limited to bills-of-lading, packing slips, special instructions, labels, reports, etc.
  • Check orders and customer notes to ensure accuracy and that the Quality Department has approved product for shipment.
  • Prepare and complete UPS files for appropriate customers.
  • Set-up and schedule trucking appointments by working with approved vendors and trucking companies as directed.
  • Conduct research on back orders and report status to appropriate person.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Inventory Control as needed.
  • Act as back-up for Receiving Clerk as needed.
  • Contact with all departments to obtain and provide information.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

The individual who will own this role:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma required.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Shipping and/or receiving experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • None
