THE POSITION

The Columbia, Montour, Snyder, and Union County MH/ID Unit is seeking Residential Program Trainees who are ready to learn and help others succeed. This role allows you to help people move toward independent living while learning important human services skills. You will also have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values growth and compassion. This is a rewarding role that helps individuals progress toward independence!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides training and direct experience in helping individuals develop skills for independent living and community participation. You will work in a structured setting that supports learning and client progress. As a Residential Program Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

  • Skill Development: Support clients in learning daily living skills such as cooking, hygiene, medication awareness, and housekeeping
  • Service Planning: Assist with creating and carrying out individual service plans that guide client growth
  • Activity Support: Help lead supervised recreational and social activities that build confidence and engagement
  • Resource Guidance: Teach clients about available community resources and how to use them effectively
  • Social Learning: Assist clients in building social skills that improve communication and independence

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time, third shift position (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at a 24-hour, 7 days per week Residential Facility for individuals with Behavioral Health and co-occurring disorders. Work schedule consists of 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
