DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position maintains, repairs, and monitors electrical, plumbing, and other building systems across multiple Department of Military and Veterans Affairs facilities. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Painting And Prep: Prepare surfaces and complete interior and exterior painting tasks
- Plumbing Repair: Maintain and repair fixtures, piping, valves, drains, and water systems
- Carpentry Tasks: Perform general carpentry including flooring, drywall patching, and minor renovations
- Electrical Maintenance: Install circuits, replace components, monitor systems, and diagnose electrical issues
- HVAC And Systems: Service ventilation, heating, cooling, and automated control systems
- Facility Upkeep: Perform cleaning duties, grounds work, snow removal, and general building care

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

- You must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
- Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience with 3-phase wiring including emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repair of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
