THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Facility Reimbursement Officer who is ready to make a meaningful difference. In this role, you will help ensure that vital reimbursement operations stay on track and support quality care. Your work will help Clarks Summit State Hospital maintain financial strength and continue serving those in need. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees the daily operations of the Reimbursement Office and ensures that financial responsibilities are handled accurately and within required guidelines. As a Facility Reimbursement Officer, you will perform the following duties:

  • Financial Oversight: Review financial data, verify liabilities, and guide reimbursement processes to maintain compliance
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise staff who research consumer resources and determine financial liabilities
  • Billing Coordination: Ensure accurate billing, prompt posting of payments, and proper account classification
  • Policy Compliance: Apply DHS regulations, maintain confidentiality, and support audits and reviews
  • Public Relations: Communicate with agencies, guardians, and payers to support reimbursement activities
  • Reporting Duties: Prepare revenue projections and provide required reports and analyses

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hour per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office 2 days per week. In-office training dates will be determined by the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clarks Summit. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Facility Reimbursement Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of experience involving public contact work in billing and collecting financial accounts or debts; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Completion of college-level work with major course work in business administration, finance, accounting, health care management, or a related field may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
