Who we're looking for
The Senior Technical Program Manager - Teamcenter / PLM Releases, Deployments, and Upgrades is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing application releases across development, test, staging, and production environments for Teamcenter and related PLM solutions. This role also manages the Teamcenter product and upgrade roadmap, ensuring platform evolution is aligned with business priorities, technical dependencies, supportability, and long-term maintainability. The role ensures deployments and upgrades are executed in a controlled, predictable, and business-aligned manner with minimal disruption to operations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical program and release management discipline with a practical understanding of PLM business processes and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage Teamcenter / PLM releases, deployments, upgrades, patches, and hotfixes across environments.
- Own and maintain the Teamcenter roadmap for releases and upgrades, aligning plans with business priorities, application lifecycle needs, vendor support timelines, and platform stability goals.
- Lead upgrade planning and execution, including impact assessment, dependency analysis, environment readiness, regression planning, cutover sequencing, and post-upgrade validation.
- Own end-to-end release readiness, including scope validation, dependency tracking, environment coordination, deployment sequencing, and go/no-go checkpoints.
- Lead cutover planning and execution, including deployment runbooks, rollback procedures, communication plans, and post-deployment validation.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA, infrastructure, database, and support teams to ensure successful release execution.
- Ensure releases follow defined SDLC processes, change controls, testing gates, compliance requirements, and operational readiness standards.
- Assess release and upgrade risks, identify potential deployment issues early, and drive mitigation plans before production rollout.
- Coordinate environment management activities, including build promotion, configuration alignment, version tracking, and deployment calendars.
- Review release content for completeness, including code changes, BMIDE or configuration updates, integrations, data fixes, and documentation.
- Facilitate deployment status reporting, stakeholder updates, issue escalation, and decision-making during release windows.
- Conduct post-release and post-upgrade reviews, track lessons learned, and improve release management processes, automation, and deployment reliability over time.
- Support production stability by ensuring effective handoff to operations and application support teams after deployment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing enterprise application releases, deployments, upgrades, or change execution in complex environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of Teamcenter or comparable PLM platforms in support of deployment, release, and upgrade activities.
- Strong understanding of business processes supported by PLM, such as product data management, BOM management, change management, workflow, document control, and engineering-to-manufacturing collaboration.
- Strong understanding of SDLC practices, including requirements, design, development, testing, release readiness, deployment, upgrade execution, and support transition.
- Experience building or managing application roadmaps, release calendars, and upgrade plans aligned to business and technology strategy.
- Experience with release planning, cutover management, environment coordination, risk management, and incident handling during deployments.
- Ability to work across technical and functional teams and translate business priorities into controlled release plans.
- Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and operational discipline.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with largescale upgrades/migrations and performance engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Azure/AWS) for hosting, storage, and pipelines aligned to our PLM deployment strategy.
- Exposure to PR/Change Management, Product Configuration, and BOM governance in highcomplexity manufacturing.
- Siemens certifications and experience enforcing security/compliance controls.
- Experience with PLM upgrades, deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and release orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of Teamcenter deployment concepts, environment promotion strategies, configuration management, and integration dependencies.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based release, change, and incident management practices.
- Experience supporting global or multi-site deployments with strict downtime and business continuity requirements.
- PMP, ITIL, Scrum, or related certifications are a plus.
What Success Looks Like
- Releases are delivered on schedule with clear governance, predictable execution, and minimal production disruption.
- Business stakeholders are informed, prepared, and confident in release outcomes.
- Deployment risks are proactively managed, and rollback or contingency plans are always ready.
