A leading retail organization is seeking an experienced Space Planning Analyst / Space Planner to support an innovative merchandising initiative currently being developed for future public rollout. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-visibility project focused on retail merchandising innovation, collaborating with category management, merchandising, and senior leadership teams. This position is based onsite in Woodridge, IL.

Key Responsibilities


  • Create and maintain retail planograms using Blue Yonder Space Planning Software.
  • Develop merchandising layouts that maximize product presentation and space efficiency.
  • Build and test fixtures within an innovation center environment.
  • Work hands-on with product samples and physical merchandising displays.
  • Document planogram standards, merchandising specifications, and project updates.
  • Partner closely with Category Management and Merchandising teams to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to presentations for senior leadership.
  • Support the development of approximately 400 planograms as part of a large-scale retail innovation project.
  • Utilize Excel and Microsoft Office tools to organize data and support project documentation.



Required Qualifications


  • 2-5 years of experience in space planning, retail merchandising, category management support, or a related field.
  • Recent hands-on experience with Blue Yonder Space Planning Software (within the last 1-2 years).
  • Ability to independently create planograms, fixtures, labels, and merchandising layouts within Blue Yonder.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and other data management functions.
  • Experience with both physical merchandising execution and merchandising documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple business functions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
