ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Lead core accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, and incentive accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting processes in accordance with accounting policies and close schedules.
  • Oversee process-level internal controls, including execution, documentation, and issue remediation.
  • Support operational accounting activities across the business, including coordination with Shared Services where applicable.
  • Partner with AP, AR, Payroll, and other finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues, reconciling items, and process exceptions.
  • Support month-end close activities by delivering accurate and complete accounting inputs.
  • Develop accounting talent through coaching, review, and exposure to core accounting processes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial close, and internal controls.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Experience with an ERP environment (JD Edwards preferred) and process improvement initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Ability to design, execute, and monitor process-level internal controls.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage recurring deadlines and dependencies.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues efficiently.
  • Process mindset with focus on accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will have supervisory responsibilities.
