Systems Engineering Supervisor
Overview This Supervisor position is a new role within the VIRGINIA Class Propulsion Plant Fluid Systems and Components department with responsibilities more focused on driving VIRGINIA Class design change and improvement initiatives. The VIRGINIA Class Propulsion Plant Fluid Systems and Components department currently consists of five groups inside three disciples: (1) Reactor Plant and Steam Plant Fluid Systems, (2) Steam Valves and Heat Exchangers and Pump Engineered Components, and (3) Test Equipment. These groups are cognizant over respective piping systems, components, or test equipment assemblies and responsible for developing sound technical solutions to emerging construction and test problems arising at new construction shipyards. Currently, these groups are also cognizant of future design changes associated with the respective systems or components. This new role will establish a department structure to more reliably support design change and improvement initiatives while working with the more construction focused groups to drive innovation and implementation. Responsibilities of this group may include:
Driving completion of propulsion plant fluid system or component design changes as part of VIRGINIA Block VII engine room design modifications
