Position Highlights This position will be responsible for picking up surplus equipment/supplies from campus and returning them to the Paul & Alice Baker Distribution center. This position will also be responsible for organizing the surplus items and preparing them for sale at monthly auctions. They will also provide customer service to campus departments and the general public in the Surplus Storefront. Additionally, this role will work closely within a team environment to accomplish daily tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive University stake bed trucks to campus to pick up surplus equipment/supplies. Using material handling tools like appliance dolly, pallet jack and forklift to name a few. Assists with organizing and setting up Auctions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to campus and general public visiting the surplus storefront.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Includes warehouse docks and vehicles

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing (up to 70 pounds).
  • Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
  • Temperatures above 100 degrees for more than an hour.
  • Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals in a work setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift, move, pull, and push items up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
