Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

The Business Operations Specialist partners with the 737 Fuselage Operations Leadership Team to support strategic planning, workforce and resource management, business performance, and executive decision-making. This highly visible role provides critical analysis, reporting, and decision support that helps leaders meet production commitments, optimize resources, and achieve operational objectives. The successful candidate will transform complex data into actionable insights and executive-level communications that drive business results.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support 737 Fuselage Operations leadership through business analysis, strategic planning, and executive decision support.
  • Develop workforce, resource, and capacity plans to support customer commitments and production goals.
  • Develop headcount forecasts, business cases, budgets, and financial analyses.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Translate complex operational data into executive-level presentations and actionable insights.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Collaborate across Operations, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Program Management to drive business results.
  • Support facility planning, operational growth, and production readiness initiatives.
  • Maintain planning standards, governance processes, and business procedures.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts that enhance business operations and planning effectiveness.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of experience in business operations, planning, analytics, or program support
  • Experience supporting senior leaders through business analysis, strategic planning, and executive-level decision support
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and executive presentations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience supporting aerospace, manufacturing, or production operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Maximo, and O&R systems.
  • Experience with workforce planning, capacity planning, resource forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations for leadership teams.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $78,600-$120,500
