Position Summary:

As a Mechanical Engineer Level I, you will provide mechanical engineering support for projects across the chemical, energy, industrial, or process sectors. Working under supervision, you'll assist with analysis, design, and drafting activities while developing your technical skills and knowledge.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering mechanical engineering services that meet project, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support mechanical analysis of steel and concrete structures, foundations, and mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare basic design calculations in line with engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards (ASME, ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC).
  • Create and update design sketches, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of construction specifications, bills of materials, and quantity take-offs.
  • Participate in design reviews and team meetings to ensure work aligns with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
  • Keep up to date with technical innovations, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and seek guidance when necessary.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant mechanical engineering, ideally within energy, industrial, chemical or process industries.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • EIT in West Virginia preferred, or ability to obtain shortly after hire.
