TYPE OF POSITION: Hourly;10-month Hours may vary based on program needs REPORTS TO: Building Principals SUPERVISION: None SALARY: $59,497 - $90,362/yr QUALIFICATIONS: Required Preferred POSITION SUMMARY: To provide a comprehensive school counseling program focused on chemical dependency issues which includes academic, career, and personal/social domains designed to fit the needs of each school's unique population and characteristics. The School Counselor provides programming that includes conflict resolution skills, coping and refusal skills, character education, diversity, and study skills. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge of group guidance philosophies ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Counseling / Assessment / Outreach * Foster the personal growth, educational development, and emotional well-being of students Career and Post-High School Counseling (Secondary Level) * Coordinate visits from colleges, military representatives, and post-secondary programs Promotion and Recognition of Student Achievement (Secondary Level) * Disseminate scholarship and honors information Registration & Curriculum Involvement * Recommend changes to master schedules and assist with school scheduling and class lists Inservice and Professional Development * Participate in data retreats, leadership teams, and intervention teams Maintenance of Records * Maintain accurate student grades and credit records * Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: * Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week*.
