Classroom microscope maintenance and care (5%) Maintain lab spaces at both the School of Veterinary Medicine and offsite facilities, including ensuring that supplies and spaces are in date, inventoried, and clean (5%)
Assist in inventory, procurement, management and disposal of fixed and fresh samples for student labs and active learning sessions. (May include cadavers, body tissues, and specimens such as animal feces, parasites, bacteria, fungi, blood, urine) (5%) Department:School of Veterinary Medicine; Department of Pathobiological Sciences Compensation:The anticipated salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. However, final salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications:Certified Veterinary Technician or Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Animal Sciences Preferred Qualifications:Qualified candidates will have excellent organizational skills and a strong desire to foster student learning in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Previous experience working with students is preferred. Laboratory experience including work with bacterial cultures, animal patient samples, preserved animal tissues, fresh cadavers, microscopes and other laboratory equipment is also desirable. Animal handling and technical skills (e.g. blood collection, intravenous catheter placement, and animal restraint), are additionally valued. Education:Associate Degree (Certified Veterinary Technician) or Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Animal Science required.
