Summary of Objective:

Perform advanced facility related preventative maintenance and repairs as a Facility Reliability Technician (FRT), maintain the Pharmaceutical facilities at a "World Class" level. Apply deductive reasoning and interpret a variety of technical instructions. There are no direct supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Proactively support facilities management in ensuring a safe work environment and maintenance practices through adherence to PCI safety policies and practices.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot a wide range of instrumentation used for all functions of a cGMP facility.
  • Responsible for the operational readiness of PCI Facilities working closely with peers and facilities management to ensure deficiencies are proactively and thoroughly resolved.
  • Provide support coverage to all shifts on an as-needed basis and responsible for alarm remediation and trouble call triage.
  • Support PCI Facilities Engineering as part of the weekend and holiday On-Call team.
  • Through the execution of the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program, make routine, periodic, and at times special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, utilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled, demand, new, and emergency maintenance on support equipment.
  • Take a lead role for maintenance operations in the absence of the Facilities Engineering Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and/or opportunities for cost savings, and support the drive for continuous improvement for the Facilities systems, utilities, equipment and Operations.
  • Ensure timely review of GMP records and reviewing work to ensure it is performed accurately and in compliance.
  • Assist in the management and creation of data reports and metrics, and in development and adherence to a comprehensive facilities maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain professional subcontractor and vendor relationships and support the development and execution of vendor training as needed.
  • Assist in providing oversite to contract staff as needed to ensure compliance to support all Facilities related activities at PCI sites.
  • Provide project support as a subject matter expert in the areas of mechanical equipment design and operation.
  • Work with supervision to schedule maintenance events with internal departments.
  • Assist with training less experienced Reliability Technicians to perform Facilities maintenance tasks. Provide direction in the operation and maintenance of critical plant equipment and systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service and create strong partnerships with internal and external partners including Quality Assurance, Material Management, Quality Control, Manufacturing, MTS, Engineering, EH&S, Finance, and Information Technology.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by Facilities Engineering Management.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10 plus years of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, plant utility operations and refrigeration.
  • 5+ years previous experience in a GMP preferred.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required.
  • Basic understanding of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, proficiency is these programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge and experience in CMMS or ERP system preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred:

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Preferred MEP Building Trades related experience HVAC emphasis or equivalent with a minimum of
  • Three (3) years of facility maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Should possess an understanding of facility maintenance including:
    • Predictive facilities maintenance program
    • cGMP guidelines
    • Water, gas, and electrical utilities
    • MEP, Fire protection systems, and electrical generation systems
    • HVAC systems, including but not limited to low humidity control systems

The hiring rate for this position is $30.27-$34.06 hourly plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to specific and relevant experience, education, credentials, geography, and subject matter expertise.
