Job Summary

Join our team as a CNC Machinist where you will play a crucial role in machining new tooling and maintaining existing equipment with precision and care. This position involves operating a variety of machinery including saws, lathes, drills, milling machines, and grinders. The role requires physical activity such as moderate to heavy lifting, machine setup, and occasional plant-based tasks like equipment repair and component installation. Safety, accuracy, and efficiency are key in our dynamic manufacturing environment.

Primary Duties

As a CNC Machinist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating various machine tools-saws, lathes, drills, milling machines, grinders-to machine parts meticulously to print specifications, achieving tolerances within .001 inch.
  • Utilizing hand tools in tandem with automated machinery to start, stop, and adjust machine feed functions with excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Employing precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure products meet stringent quality standards.
  • Setting up machines efficiently, including loading raw materials and aligning tooling to optimize production flow.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and making minor repairs to equipment both at the workstation and across the plant, including occasional use of acetylene torches and arc or MIG welders in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Following all safety and operational procedures while handling heavy materials and operating forklifts or climbing where necessary.
  • Collaborating closely with supervisors, engineering teams, and fellow machinists to continuously improve processes and maintain production excellence.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the CNC Machinist role demonstrates exceptional manual dexterity and coordination, essential for precise machine operation and hand tool use. Strong communication skills are vital to effectively interact with supervisors, engineers, and team members to ensure production goals are met accurately and safely. Superb vision and attention to detail are necessary to set up machinery accurately and to inspect finished parts against detailed specifications. A proactive attitude toward workplace safety and continued skill development is highly valued.


CNC Machine Coding is Necessary for this role.

Education / Experience

Applicants should possess relevant vocational training or certifications in CNC machining or related fields. Prior hands-on experience operating various machine tools and precision measuring instruments is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Physical capability to handle moderate to heavy lifting and to perform tasks that may require climbing or operating industrial equipment like forklifts is essential. Continuous learning mindset and adherence to industry best practices will contribute to success in this role.

The US base rate for this full-time position is 28.00. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
