Responsibilities

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Senior Software Application Support Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role you will act as the Operations team lead and provide Operational Support responsible for ensuring the stability and optimal performance of our software applications. You will act as a point of contact for technical issues, troubleshooting software errors, providing user support, and collaborating with our engineering team to implement fixes. This will require the ability to start, stop and diagnose services running in Linux. The engineer will also support the existing team and developers responding to external functional and rule writing. The engineer will gather and maintain requirements for the development of technical solutions in deploying the Datarunner rules engine application within other mission frameworks and external organizations. Some software includes Apache NiFi, Datarunner, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, AWS EC2 instances, CHAP. You will provide after-hour "on-call" support as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

    Twenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining, configuring and supporting complex software applications
  • Experience with Linux command line and Systems Administration support
  • Ability to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues, technical documents, and user guides
  • Experience with technologies such as; Docker, MongoDB, Mongo Compass, ElasticSearch, AWS and ContainerYard
  • Ability to proactively monitor application performance, system health checks, and database status to ensure maximum uptime
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze software issues, evaluate error logs, identify root causes
  • Experience working with Atlassian tools, Jira, Confluence
  • Familiarity with web application architectures, web servers (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, IIS), and APIs.
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Dataflow and Mission data formats
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform independently
  • Strong sense of ownership to drive issues to resolution while maintaining high customer satisfaction

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
